How I Am Composting At Home With Ma: Easy Composting For Kids

Me and ma made this compost. we used all the waste from the kitchen. now it is in our balcony. i thought it would be very dirty and smelly but ma said we can try to use the waste once. so we tried.

me and ma are taking a lot of care for it.

my dadun, my ma's father, cut the top of the plastic bottle so that we could put the waste inside. this was an oil bottle. he also cut out the top and kept it for me so that i could cover the bottle. he also made some holes on the sides.

see, it says canola oil.

there is a lot of waste in it. i helped ma by first adding a brown layer for the compost. ma explained to me that compost has brown and green layers. the brown is the dead leaves and twigs that i collected from the plants in our balcony.

then ma put all the kitchen waste. you can also see some egg shells that ma broke into smaller pieces. i also added banana peels.

ma told me to make sure that i add some water to it every day so that it stays moist. it should not be very wet or very dry. then the compost will not happen.

i use a red spray bottle and add some water in it everyday. then ma shakes it up.

see my dadun cut this out.

we started doing this 2 weeks back and the bottle was full. then it started getting less and less. and ma keeps adding more things to it.

i think it is very interesting.

ma also told me to cover the bottle with this cloth so that it does not get very dry.

i love plants a lot especially rose and lotus🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹𐩕𐩕𐩕𐩕𐩕𐩕𐩕𐩕𐩕𐩕𐩕𐩕𐩕.

i want to see how this compost happens and then i will put this in the plant soil with ma. i would love to have a garden one day and make more compost.

Your plants will feel very happy when they would receive home made manure after a few days.
